Ponds 8 and 5 usually have higher mortalities than the rest of the site because of RTFS. When fish come from the hatchery, they are initially put in these ponds and the increased stress is thought to increase susceptibility.
Limited visibility in ponds due to heavy rainfall, however fish displayed a healthy feed response when ponds were approached and no fish lethargic, or moribund fish were observed.

In the comp hatch observed a few individuals where the tail has not developped properly, leading to them just swimming in circles. This does not rectify itself as they grow and these individuls are removed by staff as they are observed.
