17 pens - 5 8m squares 8m deep nets, 6x 50m circles 12m deep nets, 6x60m circles 12m deep nets
Nets are all 22.5mm dyneema. New top nets recently purchased.
All triploid fish stocked from New Farm Selcoth, next year will also stock from Frandy
Total number on site - 149411, overall average weight across site 1.87kg, biomass 280092kg
Stocking density average 7kg/m3, highest pen is 12kg/m3 stocking density. Circle pens are all stocked with final numbers, only get closer to 15kg/m3 prior to harvest. Swim throughs are conducted at square pens.
Harvesting - pens towed to pier and bled and stunned into harvest bins - cage emptied in 2-4 days - harvesting every few weeks in spring/summer last harvest 18th October next in March 24.
Some higher morts due to PKD, BKD, Otter predation - peaking at 25 PKD, BKD/day and 40 for otter - sporadic - no significant peaks. Average mortality for the whole of 2023 so far is 0.6%
Fish are regularly health checked by staff who are all trained and competent at sampling.
ROV checks conducted on nets - monthly at least, and before towing pens or swim through.
Otter predation has left marks on some fish, particularly pens that had just moved over from the square pens but they are not moribund, lethargic and doing well. These are removed if become lethargic. No damage to equipment from otter predation but damaging fish through the nets.

Stock all triploid rainbow trout. Currently taking inputs - pen towed to pier and left for 4 days until complete.
Stocking density average 7.3kg/m3, with highest pen at 12.7kg/m3.
No health issues on site.
Main cause of mortality is predation (otters all year round and cormorants in winter) and runts/deformities - no significant peaks during period checked.
Tricaine is used on site but only for lethal doses. No treatments carried out.
The general population of fish on site appeared in good health and actively shoaling in the pens. Minor signs of damage from the otter predation observed in a small number of fish. Some runts observed actively swimming in the pens. One dead fish seen across the whole site. The fish sampled for VMD appeared healthy externally and upon internal examination, with feed in the stomach.
Inspection and sampling conducted by observed and audited by .
Due to being under movement restrictions the surveillance frequency for this site is high. [Original PDF]

Otter predation an issue, electric fencing had been trialled but this did not improve the situation. No damage to the dyneema nets had been recorded so not a containment issue.
A couple of side swimmers noted in some cages. General population appeared in good health.
No chemical treatments have been administered in a number of years, therefore no records to inspect. Tricaine is used but only for lethal doses.
Inspection accompanied by to conduct FHI competency audit.
Site surveillance frequency scores low but due to BKD order is recorded as high. [Original PDF]
