Increased mortalities reported to vet throughout the cycle where necessary. Causes and issues have included: bloating / osmoregulation issue Dec 2019 - FVG sampling - no significant findings. January 2020 FVG sampling polychromasia in some moribund fish. May 2020 FVG - nephrocalcinosis (elevated mortality at cage level), June 2020 mortality associated with handling due to net change. July 2020 Grading of spring fish for failures. August caligus (salmosan and slice treatments).

The site is usually stocked with 12 pens, however upon input fish tested positive for RMS and the stock was thinned into an extra pen. Following input fish were treated with freshwater and oxytet which has since cleared the site for RMS. Site have plans in place to remove the 13th pen by grading its stock into the remaining 12 pens.
Site recently treated for sea lice in March 2022, the treatment included a round of Salmosan followed by an AMX treatment.
Week 52, 2021 and Week 9, 2022 the AF sea lice counts were slightly above the CoGP suggested criteria for treatment but returned well below following immediate treatment.
Waste is ensiled on site and collected by .
Access to sea lice treatments (Salmosan, AMX, Slice) and access to mechanical treatment boat if required in partnership with
MOWI. Rainbow trout sites are not permitted to stock cleaner fish.
A few mortalities observed in some pens as mortalities had yet to be removed that day. Fish appeared healthy and feeding well. Visual inspection of fish showed no signs of sea lice. Stock inspected with no lethargic or moribund fish observed. Some fish showing some physical damage from jellyfish. One fish removed for vmd sampling appeared in good health with no gross pathology observed upon internal examination. Fish in withdrawal after use of TMS for sea lice counts. No medicinal treatments have been carried out on current stock. Only treatment has been physical treatments to combat lice.
Mortality levels were also above reporting level for 4 consecutive weeks beginning 12/09/22. These were down to environmental gill damage with feeding rate reduced and additional monitoring put in place and had been reported to the FHI at the time of the events. Mortality: Most recent increase in mortality (1.16% Wk48 2024) due to gill issues after environmental challenge and related treatment to improve issue.
Treatments: For the current cycle - thermolicer in November 2024, SLICE in June 2024, Salmosan bath treatment in
December 2023 and April 2024.
Sealice: Average female lice levels have only been above 2 once since the last inspection.
Health Surveillance: Most recent report (22/01/2025) seen - some kidney samples tested positive for Tenacibaculum species.
No positive results for other pathogens such as furunculosis or piscirickettsia.
During physical inspection of the site fish were seen to be shoaling well. Across the whole site 8 moribund fish were observed.
