The fishery is currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They hope to open next year. They make most of their money from selling fish to other fisheries.
The hatchery will not be used again and is in the process of being dismantled. Risk category lowered from high to medium as eggs are no longer imported from outside GB.
In the past eye fluke has been an issue on site caused by snails. The manager is currently keeping snail numbers low and eye fluke is no longer an issue.
Predator mitigation methods: 6ft fence surrounding farm and fishery, bird nets over site, rat and mink traps deployed, screens on intake and outflow pipes.
Remote inspection carried out by on 06/11/2020.
Two dead fish observed on site during the inspection. Site manager reminded to remove fish.

Site receives fish from Northern Trout, Westmill FS0606, College Mill FS0052 and Selcoth FS0680.
Fish have been performing well and have only been treated for Costia with a formalin bath twice since the last inspection.
Site uses lime to clean the ponds.
Site has a perimeter fence surrounding all the outdoor facilities. Rats are present at the site, but a contractor is hired to control these.
Water was extremely dirty from run off so fish were difficult to observe. Site staff used a hand net to catch a sample of fish from each facility for visual inspection. Fish appeared in good physical health.
One mortality was observed across the site. Fish sampled for VMD appeared healthy externally and internally. [Original PDF]

Overall site is well maintained.
Transport records - Most transportations use the businesses own vehicle. Electronic movement records contain most of the required information, with the exception of the number of animals that die during transportation. No animals have died during transportation. Site operator advised that a column had been added to their record sheet to include this information.

During site inspection it was noted one pond had suffered high mortality as a result of low oxygen. An inflow pipe to the pond was frozen, stopping water circulation. Bad weather prevented the site from being properly accessed until the time of the inspection. Mortality resulting from this was not recorded at the time. It was requested that these were submitted to the FHI, however these have not been provided.
VMD fish appeared healthy when sampled.
