CFR nets are being deployed on site: 06/10/2023.
Site will be graded in january 2024 and fallow by July 2024.
Fish were input to site on 31/03/2023. Stock origin: Kames Bay (west).
Health visits only when required.
Wk32 2023 mortality not reported to FHI at the time. Now reported. No further action.
During the physical inspection only 4 mortalities and 2 moribund fish were observed across the three pens onsite. Fish were shoaling just below the surface. Sea lice were observed at low levels however freshwater treatment was scheduled for the following week. Feed response was not observed due to the slow reintroduction of feed after the recent starvation period that ended the day of inspection. The site was getting ready to install CFR nets on site - these are a precautionary measure as the seal haul out site adjecent to the farm has historically caused a mortality problem, however, seal predation has not been an issue so far this cycle.
