CFR nets are being deployed on site: 06/10/2023.
Site will be graded in january 2024 and fallow by July 2024.
Fish were input to site on 31/03/2023. Stock origin: Kames Bay (west).
Health visits only when required.
Wk32 2023 mortality not reported to FHI at the time. Now reported. No further action.
During the physical inspection only 4 mortalities and 2 moribund fish were observed across the three pens onsite. Fish were shoaling just below the surface. Sea lice were observed at low levels however freshwater treatment was scheduled for the following week. Feed response was not observed due to the slow reintroduction of feed after the recent starvation period that ended the day of inspection. The site was getting ready to install CFR nets on site - these are a precautionary measure as the seal haul out site adjecent to the farm has historically caused a mortality problem, however, seal predation has not been an issue so far this cycle.

The site was inspected following notification of circumstances which gave rise to a significant risk of escape from the company
(MSe130126RTR1). Hole (40x40cm) discovered and patched by divers on 13/01/2026. Divers believed the hole was caused by a seal, this was corroborated by an increase of predator related mortalities. A thermolicer treatment was conducted on the
26/01/2026 but unfortunately there were issues with the counter (overcounting) meaning the fish will not be counted accurately until harvest (summer 2026). The fish are currently feeding at the expected feeding rate. Mortalities are removed using the
Foover system, at least 4 times a week. Following a review of the site's predator risk assessment after the incident, all pens on site have now been changed from nylon to predator nets (CFR).
At the time of the inspection, the site appeared very tidy and no mortalities or moribund fish were observed in the pens. Only 2 pens currently present on site, both stocked (P5 where the hole was found, and P4). [Original PDF]
