The site was authorised in August 2025 and is currently stocking its first batch of fry, received from FS1369. A water quality insult occurred during hatching, so the stock is being monitored for developmental issues. The fry tend to remain at the bottom of the tank and histology sampling to check for blindness was conducted. A third party report dated 17/09/2025 found no significant histopathological findings. The mean weight is increasing, indicating no feeding issues linked to this behaviour.
In week 39, circulation through the biofilter decreased. Two additional tanks were put online to increase water volume, resulting in reduced mortality by week 40.
The stock will be vaccinated at approximately 1 g for Aeromonas salmonicida and Yersinia ruckeri.
Mortalities were observed at the collection points of each tank, but the general population was feeding and shoaling well, with some individuals still observed resting at the bottom. Surveillance frequency movements on/off calculated as predicted for a year but this may change.
